With the access of high proportion of renewable energy and the development of active distribution network technology in power systems
the traditional dispatch method
namely isolated transmission and distribution scheduling
may lead to incoordination of power generation and consumption planning between the transmission network and the active distribution network
and cannot fully utilize the centralized and distributed renewable energy. To solve the problems above
a hierarchical and distributed coordinated multi-source optimal dispatch scheme is proposed for the power system with high proportion of renewable energy
where the independence of each dispatch level is fully respected to achieve decentralized autonomy and coordinated optimization. At the transmission network level
the improved interval approach is employed to deal with the uncertainty of renewable energy
and the sub-problem is formulated as energy and reserve co-optimization model. At the distribution network level
the local dispatch level is set
and the scenario based stochastic programming is used to perform the united optimization of distributed renewable energy with energy storage integration. Thus
the sub-problem at the distribution network level is formulated as dynamic economic dispatch model. The analytic target cascading (ATC) based iterative method is applied to achieve optimal dispatch strategy of transmission and distribution coordination
while only partial boundary variables are exchanged between each area for coordination. Finally
the case study shows that the proposed coordinated dispatch scheme can take the advantage of power sources in transmission and distribution systems
which helps to improve the power grid operation economy and the ability to accommodate renewable energy.
