With the development of large-capacity flexible high voltage direct current(HVDC)transmission technology
its application in large power grid is more and more extensive. It is helpful to design reasonable control strategy to improve the safety and stability of the power system by making full use of the flexible and fast adjustment performance of flexible HVDC. In this paper
the influence of AC fault ride-through strategy of flexible HVDC on the transient stability of the system is analyzed by extended equal-area criterion(EEAC). An AC fault ride-through strategy of flexible HVDC engineering optimization method is proposed. By optimizing flexible HVDC reactive power target-control
low voltage threshold
the active and reactive current limit during fault crossing and fault ride-through recovery voltage threshold
the transient stability of the system with flexible HVDC can be improved remarkably. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified in the planning system simulation. The proposed method can provide technical support for the control strategy optimization and mode arrangement of flexible HVDC system.
