With the continuous increase in the proportion of new energy installed capacity
the role of gas turbines to stabilize the volatility of new energy sources is becoming more and more prominent. Those bring some problems to the power and natural gas supply
and a growing need to consider the power and natural gas network collaboratively. Power-to-gas(P2G)technology converts the original unidirectional gas-electric hybrid system into two-way coupling. The universal problems involved in the modeling of natural gas system are illustrated. The collaborative optimization research between the power and natural gas system is introduced emphatically
which mainly includes one-way coupled system only relying on gas turbine as an energy interface and two-way coupled system after adding P2G devices. Besides
the practical engineering application at home and abroad of the power grid and natural gas coupled system including P2G devices is summarized. Finally the problems in the power and natural gas network coupled system that require further study are initially prospected.
