The voltage rise caused by the increase of the number and capacity of photovoltaic(PV)sources in the distribution network will threaten the stability of the power grid. It is also one of the main reasons that hinder the improvement of renewable power penetration in the power grid. The intermittent and random nature of the distributed power source will cause voltage fluctuation of power grid. The voltage rise is more serious in the end of the power grid. This paper analyzes the causes of voltage rise phenomenon
and finds out the relationship between voltage and power. To solve the voltage rise problem
an active and reactive power coordinated control(ARPCC)strategy is proposed. The voltage is regulated by rationally controlling the output power of photovoltaic grid-connected inverter. The proposed strategy is compared with the conventional reactive power control(RPC)strategy and the active power curtailment(APC)strategy. The comparison results show that the proposed ARPCC strategy can cut less active power and improve the operational efficiency while maintaining voltage stability. Finally
the IEEE 13-bus distribution network is used to verify the proposed control strategy.
