In the doubly-fed induction generator(DFIG)high voltage ride-through(HVRT)problem
the conventional research on the analysis of electromagnetic transient characteristics often ignores the special time of fault removal
which makes the calculation of rotor current maximum value inaccurate during high voltage ride-through. As a result
the resistance of current limiting resistor is too small to complete the high voltage ride-through after fault removal. Based on the analysis of the whole process of DFIG electromagnetic transient
the rotor current expression from fault occurrence to removal is deduced according to the superposition principle
and the influence of the converter output and the stator-side voltage on the rotor current is considered to get more general results. In addition
considering the maximum value of the rotor current at the time of fault occurrence and removal
the current limiting resistance is optimized. Simulation results verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
