the practicability of improvements in the configuration process is deeply analyzed. Based on the analysis result

the configuration process scheme derived from IEC 61850 Ed 2. 0 for engineering is proposed. The scheme includes two aspects which are the improvement in the configuration process of substation configuration description(SCD)and projects management and the typical application cases are also given.
