In research of frequent tripping of wind turbines under high voltage conditions
the requirements for high voltage ride through(HVRT)of the main grid integration guide to wind power are introduced. A comparative analysis of electromagnetic transient characteristics of doubly-fed induction generator(DFIG)based wind turbines is carried out under dip and voltage swell conditions
and the full control of the DFIG-based wind turbines HVRT process is demonstrated if the voltage is less than 1. 3 nominal voltage. Then
a collaborative HVRT control strategy for DFIG-based wind turbines based on main controller and the convertor is proposed
which is implemented just by software improvement without hardware modification
and avoids the adverse effect of Crowbar or Chopper protection action on the characteristics of HVRT. A 2 MW DFIG-based wind turbines model for HVRT research is built in MATLAB/Simulink
and the HVRT process of DFIG-based wind turbines is simulated. The field test is carried out on a 2 MW DFIG-based wind turbines by high voltage generator for the first time. The simulation and experimental results support the theoretical analysis and verifies the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
