The generators’ grid related protections and limitations do have some problems

such as the conservatism and mismatching of settings of protections and limitations

and the coordination between these protections and limitations and power systems. Based on full dynamic simulation

an automatic checking method of generators’ grid related protections and limitations is proposed. It can be used to check the dynamic performance of protections and limitations of generators in different fault operation modes to evaluate the operation risk of power system. Simulation results show that the method is able to reflect the dynamic performance of electric power system after a fault more realistically. It can be an effective tool for the stability analysis and optimization control of power systems.This work is supported by State Grid Corporation of China (No. XTB1120136s640).
