Owing to the closed characteristics of gas insulated switchgear (GIS) devices
handling of GIS equipment accident has become more complicated than that of open devices. An analysis is made of the rapid power supply scheme after GIS bus trip accident. In this scheme
the fault area is accurately located just using fault recorded data through protection principles
the protection setting value of lines and transformers without the need of modifying and restoring the manually set isolating switch status of bus protection. The fault of lines
transformers and bus can be removed without delay during the restoration of power supply
while the power recovery rate and the stability of power grid are improved greatly. The proposed scheme has some engineering application value in handling GIS bus trip accidents.
