Taking virtual power plant (VPP) as the energy management of the distributed energy resources (DER)
this paper aims at optimizing allocation of energy storage system (ESS) in VPP with a high penetration of photovoltaic generation. In order to build the optimal allocation model
the role of ESS in VPP are described including demand response
load shifting and improvement of voltage quality. After building mathematical models of DER
sub-goals like economic
grid-supplied power and voltage are constructed. Then
the optimal allocation model composed by ESS scheduling and ESS optimizing objective functions is presented. One objective is to ensure that the storage system is always in a state of optimal scheduling and the other is used to pick out the optimal allocation of ESS. The model is solved by mixed integer linear programming and particle swarm optimization algorithm. Finally
simulation results verify the feasibility of the proposed model. It is concluded that the optimization result is affected by weight factors and related to the role of ESS. This work is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 51207140) and State Grid Corporation of China.
