Due to the mismatched feeders in an islanded microgrid
distributed generators (DGs) with conventional droop controller cannot share reactive power accurately. Aiming to solve this problem
an improved droop control strategy of accurate reactive power sharing is proposed. In the proposed scheme
the central controller sends the voltage deviation compensation signal to each DG via low bandwidth communication
and local controller of each DG integrates the signal to generate output voltage amplitude reference. Based on the proposed droop control strategy
each DG can realize accurate reactive power sharing and effectively eliminate voltage drop of AC bus. Hence
voltage restoration can also be realized in the microgrid. Simulation results indicate that the proposed droop control strategy is effective and feasible in the microgrid with complex impedance characteristics of feeders.
