In order to meet the needs of real-time monitoring and energy management in a microgrid,a microgrid monitoring and energy management integrated system composed of three logical levels(the device layer, the management layer and the optimization layer)is presented according to the hierarchical architecture of smart substations.Based on the integrated system,a microgrid monitoring and energy management device(MMEMD)in the management layer is designed. The key functions of MMEMD include:real-time monitoring of distributed generators,energy-storage systems, loads, switches and other devices within the microgrid through heterogeneous communication technology;ultra-short-term forecasting of wind and solar output power through the micrometeorological monitoring function;converting of microgrid operation information into an IEC61850information model for exchange of data with the optimization layer through the generic object-oriented substation event(GOOSE)communication service;cooperating with the optimization layer to realize coordinated control and energy optimization based on multi-time scale. On the basis of the proposed hardware and software design of MMEMD,an experimental platform is developed to verify the main functions of MMEMD.
