A smart gateway able to meet its multiple requirements for transaction access and processing is proposed，such as function positioning，data acquisition，data storage，data transmission，source-based maintenance and distributed application.A design scheme of the smart gateway is proposed，including design ideas of hardware，software，and function implementation.Finally，the test and operation results are summarized and analyzed，providing technical support to substation business data fusion，data sharing and application through the substation and control center.
