In the hybrid renewable power system,a multi-port DC-DC converter can be introduced instead of the numerous individual DC-DC converters, leading to a simpler configuration and a lower cost.In high current applications,a Buck/Boost integrated three-port DC-DC converter with coupled inductors is proposed. Two interleaved inductors are introduced to obtain a symmetrical structure and achieve an inherent current sharing. For further optimization of the converter, two inductors can be coupled in an inverse manner. The converter topology is described, along with its control strategy and operating principle. The influence on the current ripples of the coupled inductors is discussed. The effective values of the current of switches and the zero voltage switching range with variable coupling coefficients are analyzed under ideal conditions. Finally, the theoretical analysis is validated by experimental results from a 1 kW prototype.
