On the basis of expatiation on the basic control strategy，the advanced control strategy and protection strategy for the voltage source converter based high voltage direct current（VSC-HVDC）transmission system，a configuration scheme for control and protection functions suitable for VSC-HVDC system is proposed as is the interface solution between the control and converter valve equipment.The scheme is being successfully applied in the Shanghai Nanhui VSC-HVDC project，being capable of meeting the speed ability and high performance requirements of the VSC-HVDC system control and protection.
