Due to the randomness, fluctuation, intermittence and poor controllability of wind power, it is not only a network planning issue but also a peak load regulation and frequency control problem in the wind farm grid integration. Considering the randomness of wind power, a generation planning is proposed, in which the proper regulating units are determined as complement to the wind power. Based on that, a combination of site selection of regulating units and transmission network planning method model associated with wind power integration is built. IEEE-RTS is used as a test system to prove the validity of the proposed model.
