In the conventional idle load cutting-in vector control scheme of a variable-speed constant-frequency wind power generator, a DC bias of the rotor current exists because of the drift of sample signals and the deviation of A/D transformation. The DC bias is transformed into a slip-frequency AC signal by dq transformation. However, a proportional-integral(PI) controller cannot obtain a zero steady-state error for AC inputs, which results in pulses of the idle load stator voltage envelope of a doubly-fed induction generator(DFIG). Therefore the performance of the idle load cutting-in control is seriously affected. An idle load cutting-in control strategy based on PI and proportional resonant(PR) controllers is proposed, in which the slip-frequency AC signal can be compensated by PR controller to overcome the shortage of PI controller and improve the quality of idle load stator voltage. Simulations and experiments are carried out to show the effectiveness of PI and PR joint control.
