Charging facility with unified charging coupler is the prerequisite for promotion and application of electric vehicles， and the standardization of charging coupler is the foundation to guarantee the safety and inter-changability during charging process. Firstly，the development and current situation of foreign charging coupler are introduced. Then，considering the actual situation of China's power grid and the requirement of electric vehicles'application， the application and technical details of domestic coupler， such as the safety of the coupler， the functions of the terminal， interaction with the grid， are briefly introduced. Finally，the future development of charging coupler is prospected.
