The current double-circuit transmission lines dynamic model developing methods and their shortcomings are analyzed. A novel principle, the minimal mutual impedance sharing principle, which can consider the mutual inductance difference between different phase-to-phase groups is proposed. Based on the parameters of actual 500 kV double-circuit transmission lines on the same tower, the feasibility and validity of the novel principle are validated.
