Sequence control is the trend of substation automation. Emphasis is placed on the following issues: the way and goal of sequence control， the omni-directional sequence control， the protocol used in sequence control， the mode of operation ticket， the sequence control scheme， the implementation of sequence control in the dispatching center， measures to guarantee correct control， substation expansion and the reform in running and management. The implementation scheme for sequence control is given based on the above technical analysis.
