Real-time simulation is playing an increasingly important role in the designing and testing of high capacity electric equipment. In this paper, a method of hardware simulation based on DSP and FPGAs is presented. The real-time model of APF is implemented based on the time average method. By means of parallel computing, this paper provides a cost-effective and generally-applicable solving method. With transient models of electric devices, the simulator provides authentic simulation of transients and the heat dynamic process to test the functions of the controller.
