Large scaled wind power integration into power system increasingly imposes significant impacts on the system operations such as the peak load regulation and frequency regulation. To obtain the operational characteristics of doubly fed induction generators(DFIGs) and validate models, the short circuit testing on a grid connected wind farm was carried out, and the dynamic performance of DFIG was identified by the recorded field test data. Based on the established model, the short circuit tests were simulated and consistent results were obtained.
