The relation between power system fault current and the initial fault current angle is analyzed and an intelligent recloser module based on choosing the initial fault current angle is put forward. It can effectively reduce the impact on the power system during the transient process when permanent fault is reclosed. The application and realization of the intelligent recloser module in high voltage relay protection devices is described. The results of dynamic experiments indicate the feasibility and effectiveness of this type of devices.
