In order to prevent the high frequency noise interference from high voltage direct current(HVDC) converter to power line carrier(PLC) communication, the conventional method is that PLC noise filters are installed both on AC and DC sides of a converter, but sometimes, PLC noise filter faults caused the HVDC outages. Modern power system has phased in optical fiber communication, whether under this condition has the possibility to cancel PLC noise filters at HVDC converter station? For such a purpose, a high frequency noise measurement was carried out on Gaopo - Zhaoqing±500 kV HVDC system, and some useful data was achieved. Based on the analysis of measurements, this paper discusses the feasible scheme to cancel AC/DC PLC filters at HVDC converter station.
