Due to the random uncertainty of the new energy and the imbalance of the source and load distribution
the peak regulation pressure of regional power system is increasing recently. To solve the problem
one feasible way is to utilize the deep peaking ability of gas unit for peak regulation. Peak regulation capacity of the existing gas unit is analyzed. For the two regulation modes of gas unit deep variable load peak and start-stop peak
the additional cost in the process of gas unit deep peak regulation is studied and the gas unit's whole process peaking cost is proposed. To minimize the generation cost of the system
the economic dispatching model of the power system in consideration of gas unit's additional cost is established based on the full acceptance of wind power. The economy and feasibility of gas unit participating in deep peak regulation is assessed by the energy efficiency indexes established from the economic
social and environmental perspective. Simulation results for an actual system show that
in the non-heating period
the gas unit should operate in the deep peak regulation state when the system energy optimization and environmental factors are considered. The economic dispatching mechanism should be constructed when considering the additional cost of the gas unit to improve the overall energy efficiency of the power system.
