The bundled wind-thermal generation system(BWTGS)is an effective way to transmit and accommodate large-scale wind power remotely that requires a long planning cycle. As the wind power plant usually goes into operation by stages
the existing BWTGS planning model is rendered inapplicable. A life cycle cost(LCC)based multi-period optimal planning model of BWTGS is proposed to maximize the total benefits. The benefit of trading electric energy
the fuel cost
the environment cost
the maintenance cost
the reliability cost
the capital cost and the depreciated values of thermal generating units are taken into account. The wind power sequential probabilistic model is developed to represent the sequential and stochastic nature of wind power. The costs are calculated by the probabilistic production simulation method. The multi-population parallel genetic algorithm is employed to solve the model and numerical test to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
