In order to solve the fluctuation and randomness of distributed photovoltaic(PV)output and load demand in distribution network and ensure the safety and economical operation of the system
a coordinated control method of active and reactive power for distribution network with distributed PV based on model predictive control is proposed. The method divides the control process into long-time scale optimization control and short-time scale optimization control. Based on the forecasting information on PV output and load demand
multi-step optimization is used to solve the active and reactive power output in long-time scale optimization control. Short-time scale optimization control uses the output of active and reactive power which is solved in the long-time scale optimization control as the reference value
and solves the active and reactive power output increment by multi-step optimization. The models are transformed into a second-order cone programming problem as both optimal models are non-convex and nonlinear
which are hard to solve. An improved IEEE 33-bus distribution network system is used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control method.
