The fault current of doubly-fed induction generator(DFIG)is highly complicated when a symmetrical or asymmetrical fault occurs in the grid. Especially
when DFIG's crowbar is not input under nonsevere fault conditions
the fault current of DFIG fed into the grid is rated to its control strategies
the grid's reactive power demand
converters' capacity
etc. In order to meet the demand of fault analysis and relaying protection setting for the grid with DFIGs
according to different control strategies of DFIG during the fault
this paper puts forward a novel steady fault current calculation model of DFIG considering grid side converter current and different control strategies. Then
the grid-side converter current influence on DFIG's fault current is analyzed. Finally
the correctness of the model proposed is verified by digital simulation. This work is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China(No. 51177058).
