In order to solve the poor traveling consistency of existing traveling wave sensors that affects the accuracy of traveling wave location
a printed circuit board(PCB)traveling wave sensor based on the principles of Rogowski coil is proposed. In this paper
the high frequency working characteristics of the Rogowski coil are given
and the structure and working principles of the PCB sensor are studied. And the formula for calculating the mutual inductance coefficient of the PCB sensor is deducted. The anti-interference mechanism of the external magnetic field is analysed to provide a theoretical basis for detecting the traveling wave effectively. The PCB traveling wave sensor has the advantages of novel structure
wide frequency response
good consistency
strong anti-interference ability
etc. The experiment results indicate that the PCB traveling sensor can improve the consistency of precise traveling wave detection effectively and deliver transient traveling wave signals of high frequency reliably.
