The integration of high-penetration distributed generator (DG) may result in overvoltage and frequent changes in the tap position of step-voltage regulators (SVRs) in the power distribution system. Firstly
the shortcoming of the voltage control method based on the line drop compensator (LDC) and the cause of its failure are analyzed. For this problem
a fuzzy control method based on communication is proposed to regulate SVRs
and a fuzzy logic controller considering both active and reactive power is designed to mitigate the pressure of SVRs. The feasibility of the proposed approach has been demonstrated on a modified IEEE 13-node feeder.
