A coordinated charging system model based on distributed control for largescale electric vehicles (EVs) is proposed in this work. The coordinated charging system is composed of EV’s centralized regulation center (ERC) and numerous distributed charging control units (DCUs). When an EV is plugged in the distribution network
the DCU calculates its best charging start time according to the forecasted load data and plugged EVs’ charging schedules before this one broadcast by ERC
and then uploads its charging plan to ERC. Take the IEEE 33bus distribution network as an example
the coordinated charging action is simulated under different conditions including normal
communication fault and load forecasting error circumstances. The simulation results show that the distributed control coordinated charging model is capable of achieving a perfect charging load profile plus a strong antiinterference ability.
