A partial block wake effect model in complex terrain is developed based on an analysis of the partial block wake effect between wind turbines (WTs) in complex terrain. On the basis of the power output characteristics of WTs
the wake effect
the WT outages
especially the impact of connecting cable outages on the wind farm reliability
a wind farm reliability model considering the connecting cable outages is presented. Using Weibull distribution to simulate the wind speed and the sequential Monte Carlo method to simulate the outages of WTs and connecting cables
the model is implemented in MATLAB and the results show that the wake effect model in complex terrain can relatively accurately describe the wake effect between WTs while the reliability model taking connecting cable outages into account has improved the accuracy of the original reliability model.
