Owing to the adverse environment on the sea, poor accessibility and other factors, fault of offshore wind turbine is a common occurrence.By using the monitoring system, the problems can be found and solved in time to avoid great losses. The wireless sensor network(WSN)technology is applied to build the offshore wind turbine condition monitoring systems.A rational deployment of WSN's nodes(nodes for short)is the key to achieving high-efficiency operation of the system.Three kinds of node deployment schemes are proposed, including the uniform deployment strategy, energy balance deployment strategy(EBDS)and energy balance deployment strategy of cluster-heads based on the coverages(EBDS-C).It is found from theoretical analysis and experimental simulation of the results of the schemes that all schemes can realize the wind turbine condition monitoring system,of which EBDS and EBDS-C are even more suitable for condition monitoring of the offshore wind turbine, since they are not only capable of effectively and reliably transmitting information but also prolonging the service life of the monitoring system.
