The rapid development of wind farms integrated into power systems is severely impacted by the frequently occurring accidents of large-scale wind turbine generators cascading trip-off.Despite the fact that the Crowbar protection circuit is a commonly used method of improving the low voltage ride-through(LVRT)ability of the doubly-fed induction generators, worsening of the district grid voltage stability will result from large-scale Crowbar switching application. This paper presents a new method of suppressing wind turbine generators cascading trip-off based on Crowbar protection for reducing the cost of wind turbine generators trip-off during low voltage stage, and coordinated control of high-voltage direct-current(HVDC)modulation and AC emergency voltage control. The remarkable effect of this method is verified by time domain simulation results of a real power system.
