By improving the traditional emergency power support module,a new type of emergency power support technology is proposed. The power is stepped up to the value set instead of ramping up,and signals capable of reflecting the stability of the system in real time are introduced to determine the amplitude value of the emergency power support.A description is made of the basic principle of the new emergency power support module, the method of parameter setting, and the selection of the feedback signals.A simulation model is developed in PSCAD/EMTDC to verify the feasibility of the control module.Simulation results show that the controller presented can automatically determine the increment step of the active power according to the feedback signals. The new method can make full use of the transmission capacity of the DC system while taking into account the voltage stability of AC system.Furthermore, the proposed emergency power supporter can solve the problems in parameter setting and improve the applicability of the emergency power support module.
