Access of distributed generators(DG)has a significant impact on power loss, voltage and reliability of the distribution network. In view of the current problem of independent DG planning and distribution network planning,a joint planning method of coordinating the two is proposed.By taking minimum equipment investment costs, system power losses, interruption costs and power purchasing costs as objective functions, each of the objective weights is obtained using the judgment matrix.Multi-objective optimization is converted into single-objective optimization by weighting.Such decision variables as the DG position and capacity, rewiring and attending to new load are optimized by the genetic algorithm with segmented encoding and the elite reservation strategy. To speed up the search process,a practical method for determining the DG candidate placement is given by analyzing the improving effects of the power losses, voltage and reliability.Simulation results show that the optimization efficiency is greatly improved by determining the DG candidates, and the economic and technical benefits are effectively improved by joint planning of DG and the distribution network.
