There are three bus types of the continuation power flow model，namely，PV，PQ and Vθ.When the voltage stability margins of the power system with remote voltage control are calculated，new bus types，which are PQV and P，are added.A bus-type extended continuation power flow model is proposed.A method is presented for computing the voltage stability critical point and identifying the type of bifurcation in one-to-one or multi-to-one modes.The switching logic of the new bus type is also discussed.Simulation results of IEEE39bus system show that the proposed model and method are effective in simulating the feature of remote voltage control and computing the voltage stability critical point as well as identifying the type of bifurcation.
