Rational operation mode and efficient fault handling are essential to power system security. In order to optimize the power grid operation mode and improve scheduling real-time monitoring capability, an integrated framework is proposed for WAMS-based grid disturbance monitoring, analysis, evaluation, storage and off-line study in addition to a comparison and analysis of PMU data application in grid disturbance monitoring. When a grid disturbance occurs, not only should the principal features of the fault itself be analyzed, but also the post-fault topology, power flow and security margin variation should be dealt with. And it's also important to evaluate the action response of the generator governor system and other secondary equipment in the power system. Furthermore, performing integrated management of power disturbances is helpful to off-line research and replay.
