The paper proposed a branch power distribution method combined with dynamic stability theory to analyze the influence degree of generator to the power oscillation of tie line and corresponding control measure to post-fault inter-area oscillations. The impact of generator output to transmission power of tie line is derived according to the network structure. Matrix pencil analysis was utilized to make mode identification of the power oscillation and to identify the amplitude oscillation mode. According to the analysis above
the paper proposed a post-fault control measure of rescheduling power generation based on general branch contribution factor (GBCF) to suppress the interval oscillation. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the case study for CEPRI 8-generator 36-bus system. Test results show that the method can effectively enhance system damping and well damps post-fault inter-area power oscillation.
