For EHV/UHV multi-circuit transmission lines, zero-sequence mutual-inductions between lines impact zero-sequence current compensation coefficient and measurement impedance, as well as the setting range of earth-fault distance protection in different operation modes. The effects of the mutual-inductions between lines on the zero-sequence current compensation coefficient in different operation modes are analyzed with theoretic derivation, and the setting scheme of zero-sequence current compensation coefficient for earth-fault distance protection of EHV/UHV multiple-circuit transmission lines on same tower is proposed. A system with 1 000 kV/500 kV quadruple circuit transmission lines on same tower is simulated with real-time digital simulator(RTDS) to verify the correctness of the proposed scheme.
