By analyzing the characteristics of an integrated system for dispatch and control of regional power systems, an embedded time sequence database scheme combining the Oracle database and a database developed in China is presented. The presented scheme can solve some problems, such as the storage and data access inefficiency in running a relational database. Services associated with and main application functions of the time sequence database are introduced, such as displaying real time curves and historical power flow data, as well as the inversion power accident and visualized dispatch.
