Based on the structural vulnerability assessment of power grid by the complex network theory, a multi-objective transmission network planning model is developed that considers economy, the influence on environment and the vulnerability assessment of the transmission network. To evaluate the electricity network transmission ability and withstanding capacity of failures, the transmission network vulnerability index takes into account the structural characteristics and operation states. While integrating the Pareto non-dominant sorting mechanism with the differential evolution algorithm, the non-dominant sorting differential evolution(NSDE) algorithm is adopted to solve this problem. The feasibility of the NSDE algorithm in the multi-objective transmission network planning is shown by the test system results. The model proposed can effectively evaluate the vulnerability of the transmission network planning scheme, providing the planning and construction of a strong power grid with a reference.
