With many large wind farms integration into transmission network directly, the effect of wind farms on the grid is not negligible. Given that the wind farms with wound rotor induction generator(WRIG) are not yet analyzed thoroughly, this paper analyze the damping characteristics of WRIG during the transient process, and simplifies WRIG as an equivalent component to the nearby synchronous generators. Furthermore, the method of analyzing the transient stability of synchronous generator nearby the WRIG wind farm by the classical equal-area criterion is proposed. Finally the method is verified by simulation, and the transient regulation effects of the WRIG wind farm and synchronous generators are compared and discussed.
