Collector network design for offshore wind farms have received much more attention recently. Different collector networks designs directly affect the capital cost and reliability of offshore wind farms. This paper proposes a multiple-sided ring layout based on the existing four types of layouts， and assesses its cost together with other four types of designs， considering the opportunity cost of failure（the lost income due to the submarine cable fault）. A sensitivity analysis is carried out aiming at several key parameters.
