Sichuan is one of the first group of experimental provinces for implementing energy-saving generation dispatching. During carrying on the energy-saving and emission-reduction policy， dispatching manner and practical measures have been investigated. This paper studies the real-time dispatching optimization model for energy-saving generation to facilitate dispatchers in real-time dispatching. Based on the generation sorting list for energy-saving and emission-reduction and on the operational characteristics of Sichuan grid， a merit-order method based dispatch method is proposed to gain the minimum consumption of generation energy. Examples show the rationality of the proposed model.
