Demand side management, reserve capacity on demand side and reserve capacity on generation side have been studied separately till now. For generation capacity adequacy(GCA) control purpose, implementing time-of-use power price can be regarded as preventive control and reserve capacity on generation side, interruptible load with low price, interruptible load with high reparations can be considered as emergency/corrective controls. In order to improve GCA economically, their different properties on technique aspect as well as those on economic aspect make the coordination of the various kinds of control actions possible. Coordinative models and optimization algorithm are proposed from the viewpoints of risk management. Effects of various control schemes are studied quantitatively and simulation results are reported as well.
