This paper describes an integrated software developed for evaluating the reliability of power stations using the power system reliability theory and database technology. Capable of calculating the adequacy
security and economics indices of the main electrical scheme of a station based on the general n+2 State Markov Model
the software has realized the sensitivity analysis of reliability parameters. It also performs such functions as query
calculation
and analysis
which offers quantified information to decision-makers for designing
operating and planning a station. The characteristics
structural and functional design of the software are discussed. More importantly
the software has been applied extensively in practice
e.g.
the Three Gorges Station
the Xiluodu Station and the 500 kV Anshun Transformer Substation. The effectiveness of the software has been verified with good application results.
