The influences of load models on transient stability of a multi-infeed DC and AC system are analyzed at length. Dynamic loads and constant power loads at the receiving side make against the stability of such a system, whereas constant current loads and constant impedance loads are helpful for it. The errors introduced by replacing HVDC systems with simplified loads are also discussed in stability assessment under various load models. The mechanisms are explained from a quantitative analysis viewpoint.
