In view of the system characteristics of the distribution management system(DMS), a hybrid multi-agent structure is proposed by an overall consideration of both the real-time and non-real time functions. By improving the blackboard model, the concept of the block blackboard model is presented. Combined with the point-to-point message mode, the information exchange strategy for the complex multi-agent system is worked out. A 3-layer multi-agent information integration mode formed by the interfacing layer, coordinated layer and model layer is designed. A case of application of the intelligent fault-location agent is given. The stable running of an actual system has proved the effectiveness of the multi-agent model presented for DMS.
