Cascade H-bridge converter with carrier phase shifted sinusoidal pulse-width modulation (CPS-SPWM) technique is proposed. For a combination of cascade Hbridge topological structure and CPS-SPWM technique
this type of converter possesses the both merits and a good application prospect in the large power converter domain. This paper gives the implementation of Cascade H-bridge converter with CPS-SPWM
and applies it in shunt active power filter (APF). Furthermore
the closed-loop control principle of DC side voltage is verified. Simulated and experimental results show good performances of the proposed APF
which can compensate the harmonic and reactive current correctly and validly under low switching frequency conditions.
